Sylvia kept her eyes averted. Once he had pulled the sleeve down, she began to carefully unwrap the gauze from his wound. His

outer shirt was damp from the rain, but thankfully, only the top layer of the dressing was moist. The wound itself was dry.

He sat while she stood, forcing her to bend slightly over him. The fabric of her long dress draped elegantly, outlining the graceful
