Chapter 1278
"Tara, you've got to help me!" Sydney took a deep breath, her voice tinged with urgency.
"Relax, as long as I'm around, the top spot in the Medical Hall exam is yours," Tara assured her with confidence.
Honestly, Tara didn't care much about who clinched the title. She was backing Sydney simply because she was
easy to handle. Plus, there was a bonus reason now-both of them had a mutual disdain for Flora. Those women
from the Mortal World, Tara couldn't stand any of them.
The day of the Medical Hall exam arrived before they knew it. Early that morning, Corbyn sent someone to fetch
Flora. If she didn't show up, how could the exam proceed?
Flora, unhurried and sleepy-eyed, finally got up, freshened up, and headed over to the Medical Hall.
"Flora, where are you headed?" Mae asked instinctively as she noticed Flora heading out. Was she off to meet
her fiancé again?
"I'm going to the Medical Hall," Flora replied casually.

"Oh, alright." Mae relaxed, remembering something she added, "But you can't get into the Medical Hall today. It's
locked down for the exam, no outsiders allowed in."
As soon as the Medical Hall exam wrapped up, it would be tfor the family exams. This year, the Gilbert
family might just steal the spotlight.
"I know." Flora nodded with a bit of a smirk. "But it's okay, | can get in."
"Huh?" Mae blinked, a bit baffled by Flora's confidence.
Flora grabbed a couple of cookies from the table, stuffed them into her pocket, and gave it a little pat. "Because
I'm the chief examiner."
Mae was left speechless: "77?"
Meanwhile, over at the Medical Hall, Sydney was nervously clutching her prescription.
"Don't worry, I've checked your prescription; it's really impressive," Tara reassured her. But then she hesitated,
"Sydney, did you cup with this prescription on your own?" Sydney's work was way above her usual
standard, leading Tara to suspect it might not be entirely her own.
"I..." Sydney clutched the prescription tighter. Her previous arrogance had vanished. With her brother locked up
by the Enforcement Division and her fiancé out of commission, how could she maintain any semblance of pride?
"It's alright." Tara patted her back gently. "I trust you know what you're doing."
Even if it was stolen, so what? As long as Corbyn and the others remained in the dark, she could
skate by unnoticed. Tara guessedet
Sydney might have lifted it from sobscure physician. Surely, it wasn't from anyone within. Medical Hall-that
would be too risky.
Sydney wasn't that naive.
"Tara, do you think Flora will show up today?" Sydney asked, a hint of anxiety in her voice. "Her?" Tara sneered.
"No way."
What right did Flora have to be here? She wasn't part of the Medical Hall. Sydney exhaled in relief. Good, as long
as Flora stayed away... Her prescription was actually Flora's. If

Flora appeared, it would Her Set
"Go on in and get ready; the exam's about to kick off." Tara said softly. Only chief examiners were allowed in the
exam room, and she wasn't one of them.
"Okay." Sydney nodded, obediently heading inside.
"Uncle Amos, what are you doing here?" Tara noticed Amos standing by the entrance all day, seemingly waiting
for someone, and her curiosity got the better of her. Amos was Corbyn's right-hand man, so why was he hanging
around here?
"I'm waiting for a very important guest," Amos said seriously.
Flora was now considered Corbyn's sister, so wasn't she an important guest?
An important guest? Tara's curiosity piqued. Who could be so significant that Amos would refer to them as such?
"Miss Tara, there's still no word from the Summer family," someone approached and informed Tara respectfully.
