Chapter 295
Even though it was nighttime, the line at the cashier was pretty long since there were many people in the
emergency room that day.
It was almost Yolanda's turn when a group of people swarmed in abruptly from the outside. These people flocked
around the medical staff, pushing the stretcher, and frantically headed to the emergency room.
The person on the stretcher had a huge patch of blood on his chest. His face was deathly pale, his eyes were
tightly shut, and he had an oxygen mask on his face. His condition looked very critical.
Yolanda saw an unexpectedly familiar face in the crowd.
It was Joel.
"Jude, Jude! Hang in there!
"Jude!"
The one on the stretcher was Jude Kaufman!
"I'll go take a look."

Yolanda handed the payment invoice to Gavin and ran in the emergency room's direction.
When she arrived at the emergency room, Jude was already wheeled into the trauma room.
"Damn it!"
Joel was outside the trauma room, looking very hopeless.
"It's my fault! It's all my fault!"
"Did Mr. Kaufman get shot?"
When Yolanda was walking over, she overheard the medical staff discussing the retrieval of the bullet.
"D-Dr. Henderson?"
Joel was slightly taken aback, and then a glimmer of hope flashed in his eyes.
"Dr. Henderson, please, can you figure out how to save Jude? | beg of you." Instantly, Joel bent as he was about
to kneel before Yolanda yanked him up by his
arm.
"Please tellfirst. How did he get hurt?"
"He took a bullet for me. | was supposed to get hit," Joel replied, blaming himself.
"I was supposed to eat with Jude, but | encountered a fugitive in my previous case who had cback to
Riverdale wanting to take revenge on me. If it weren't to save me, Jude wouldn't..."
Joel's eyes were red-rimmed. He was very emotional and could barely finish his sentence.
"The bullet is lodged near the heart. The doctor said that he needed surgery right away, but he wantsto
prepare for the worst."
It was an extremely dangerous situation to have a bullet lodged near the heart. Jude had also lost too much
blood while he was being sent to the hospital. The odds were stacked against him.
When Yolanda saw Jude on the stretcher previously, he had already gone into shock.
In situations like this, the doctors had already done the best they could if they had
not immediately announced that they had failed to save the patient.
"Dr. Henderson, | previously thought you were a fraud, and | apologize to you. Could you
save my brother, please?"
Initially, Joel thought Yolanda was a fraud. He also didn't believe in traditional medicine and acupuncture
treatments.
However, ever since Jude had received acupuncture treatment from Yolanda and had drank the medicine that
Yolanda prescribed, the symptoms Jude was having had completely disappeared.
Joel had always known that jude was tortured immensely by his ailment and that no hospital could treat him. So
when he saw Jude fully recover, he knew he had wronged Yolanda.
However, his status and ego didn't allow him to apologize to a little lady like Yolanda voluntarily.
Today, Jude took a bullet for him, and his life was hanging by a thread. When he was hopeless, he saw Yolanda,
and even for someone who was not superstitious like Joel, it felt like that was a guiding sign from the heavens.
He then apologized very sincerely to Yolanda and begged her to save Jude.
"If he can be saved, I'll try my best." Yolanda couldn't promise Joel anything without first assessing Jude's
condition. She was a doctor, not a deity.
Even if she was extremely confident in her medical skills, she wouldn't jump straight to a conclusion.
Just as Yolanda had finished speaking, the light outside the trauma room went off.
The doctor cout with a solemn look on his face and said, "Commissioner Kaufman, Mr. Kaufman's injuries
were too severe. We tried our best, but his condition isn't looking good. It's best if you prepare for the worst..."
"No! It can't be! Please continue to resuscitate him. What if my brother suddenly comes back to life again?"
