Chapter 323
Leon grabbed Bailee's phone and found Yolanda's number.
He called her to ask where she was, then took a taxi straight to Willow Creek Clinic. Walking in, the first person
he saw was Yolanda, sitting by the examination
table.
He raised an eyebrow, a bit surprised. "It's you!"
Leon hadn't expected the young woman he met the other day to be the one who saved Adrian. But seeing
Yolanda now, everything started to make sense.
Ever since Yolanda saved Jude that day, Leon had developed a new respect for her medical skills. But given his
position and status, apologizing to a teenager wasn't an option.
"The person you saved yesterday is Logan Fuel's son, Adrian. His condition isn't good. We've done everything we
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtcan at the hospital, but he's still not out of danger. If his vitals don't stabilize by today, I'm afraid he won't make
it through the night," Leon explained.
"He's not doing well?" Yolanda's first thought was that the acupuncture needles had been removed.
"Exactly, and you're the only one who can save him now. A life hangs in the balance, but if you refuse, | can't
force you," Leon spoke seriously, his tone urgent.
Understanding how serious Adrian's condition was, Yolanda didn't dwell on anything else. After giving Dunstan
sinstructions, she followed Leon to the hospital.
"I thought the Fuel family themselves would clooking for me," Yolanda spoke calmly during the ride.
"Bailee's one of our staff. Her impersonation caused serious damage and delayed Mr. Adrian's treatment. The
Fuel family is furious with the hospital.
"Once bitten, twice shy. They don't trust our doctors anymore and have warned us not to touch their son again.
They're using their connections to find a miracle worker instead.
"Technically, this isn't even my responsibility as a department head. But since | hired the wrong person and the
hospital's reputation is on the line, | had to cpersonally to ask for your help."
If this beca medical malpractice case, the district hospital would be downgraded, and everyone involved
would face penalties from the medical board.
Leon couldn't allow Bailee's recklessness to drag the whole hospital down, so he took a risk and brought Yolanda
in. No matter the outcome, at least he would have done everything he could.
"Whether you manage to save Mr. Adrian or not, at least | can say I've done everything in my power. No regrets."
Leon remained serious the whole time. It was obvious that the situation was grim.
Afterlearning that her acupuncture needles had been removed., Yolanda had already guessed Adrian's condition.
If they made it back in time, she could treat Adrian, and his life would not be in danger.
"If | agreed to cwith you, it means I'm confident | can save him. Plus, | can give you a prescription to cure
your rheumatoid arthritis."
"For real?" Leon asked, a bit excited. "Rheumatoid arthritis can only be managed, never fully cured-whether by
modern or traditional medicine. Can you really cure it?"
"Yes." Yolanda nodded. "But don't forget, you lost that bet last time-you still owea shift working at Willow
Creek Clinic."
"If you can cure me, I'd gladly work for you-hell, I'd even work like a horse for you!"
Leon's rheumatoid arthritis had troubled him for years. The pain was unbearable every rainy season.
"You don't need to work like a horse, but | do need volunteers for free clinics."
Even though Willow Creek Clinic's fees and medicine were already affordable, speople still couldn't afford
healthcare. Yolanda had decided to open free clinics twice a week soon.
Right now, apart from herself, only Baxter could handle things at the clinic. Dunstan, though on the right path
now, still lacked experience and needed further training. So, she would really need doctors when the tcame.
"Free clinics?" Leon asked, surprised.
