Chapter 1418: Once her shoes were on, he reached for her hand. Without a word, Nate led her up the stairs.

"Head to your room. I'll make you shangover remedy," Nate said before turning to leave. Suddenly, Corrine caught his wrist. "I'm really happy today." "I know," Nate replied with a resigned smile, gently patting her head. "Just wait for me." But she kept her grip firm, clutching his wrist as if afraid he might disappear the moment she let go.

Nate looked down at her hand on his wrist, his smile broadening slightly, eyes gleaming with amusement. "If you're not up for a hangover remedy, that's fine too." Then, he tenderly cradled the back of her head and drew her into a deep kiss.

The following morning, Corrine woke to a heavy ache all over her body. Her throat burned, dry and scratchy, as if she'd swallowed sand and heat for days.

She lay in bed, the room around her in disarray, her gaze fixed on the ceiling.

She had blacked out the night before, her memories a blur. Yet the overwhelming sensations of soaring high and then plummeting remained vivid.

After about thirty minutes, Corrine pushed herself up with effort and headed downstairs.

Mandy was ascending the stairs as Corrine stepped out. Mandy almost smiled but greeted her with respect instead. "Miss Holland." Corrine gave a small nod as she passed her, though something about Mandy's smile felt off.

"Finally awake?" Nate asked when he saw her descending the stairs. She nodded, eyes lifting to meet his, noticing the marks on his neck, barely concealed by his tightly buttoned shirt.

Unable to maintain eye contact, Corrine grimaced and looked away, heading silently toward the dining room.

After breakfast, she sat on the sofa, stealing glances at Nate. "Aren't you supposed to be at the office?" "No, I'm not feeling well," Nate replied, his eyes holding a faint smile as he pointed toward his neck. "This needs sattention." Her eyes followed his gesture and landed on the mark again. Her cheeks flushed pink, and she quickly lowered her gaze, avoiding his eyes.

Clearing her throat, she said, "I'll check how the others are doing!" el With that she hurried away.

She dialed Kinsley's number. After several rings, a faint and groggym voice finally answered. "Hello?" Corrine's brows furrowed. "Why is it you?" she snapped when she recognized Vulture's voice.

When Corrine stepped into the hotel suite, she found Vulture and Kinsley ve neatly perched on the sofa.
