Chapter 1453: Corrine's presence tonight hadn't gone unnoticed-she drew more than a few admiring glances from the male guests. The Ford family had kept her well out of the public eye for years. Very few knew who she was, and this was the first tshe appeared so prominently at a major event.

Her presence was, without question, an unexpected highlight. After all, how many men could resist someone with her grace, allure, and quiet sophistication? Knowing Nate-possessive to the core-it was hard to believe he'd sit back while other men openly admired the woman by his side. That was why Moses was almost certain Nate's behavior this evening was a calculated move, a public claim meant to solidify his relationship with Corrine.

Nate didn't respond, neither confirming nor denying Moses' observation.

"What do you think he's getting at?" Moses asked, turning to Zack seated beside him.

Zack adjusted his glasses, a gleam of amusement in his eyes. "If he's staying quiet, there's a good chance you've got it exactly right." Hearing this, Moses grinned, pleased with himself, a sly charm glinting in his narrowed eyes.

After leaving the restroom, Corrine didn't return to Nate right away. Instead, she made her way over to Carl's table.

"Grandfather," she called softly.

Carl gave a small wave, motioning for her to sit beside him.

No sooner had she taken her seat than his deep voice rumbled, low and steady. "Have you made up your mind?" The words were vague, but Corrine understood perfectly what he meant.

If she hadn't, she never would have accepted Nate's proposal to begin with.

Carl didn't press further. He gave a slight nod and asked, "So-when's the wedding?" "Hmm..." A flicker of surprise crossed Corrine's eyes. She was taken aback by her grandfather's abrupt shift in attitude and hadn't anticipated the mention of a wedding.

Her hesitation didn't go unnoticed. Carl's brows furrowed. "He's not getting cold feet, is he?"

"No, it's not that," Corrine quickly explained. "I just didn't expect you to support.

Given his previous disapproval, she had assumed her grandfather would continue opposing her relationship with Nate.

"Things may have reached this point, but I still stand by what said Before,” Carl said evenly.
