Chapter 812 After Citrine and Sebastian left, Theo and Quentin seemed like lost souls.

Kali stood off to the side, her face pale and eyes downcast. She bit her lip, struggling to keep her anger in check as she looked at the two of them.

"Quentin, Theo, you both promised you'd spend the day with me." She was doing her best to keep it together, but her frustration still seeped through. "Sorry, Kali," Theo apologized immediately, realizing he'd been ignoring her.

Quentin, still preoccupied with Citrine's parting words, only snapped back to the present at the sound of Kali's voice. He forced a smile. "Let's go. We're with you now, whatever you want to do." He managed a strained grin in her direction.

"That's more like it." Kali didn't notice their lack of enthusiasm. Once she saw their attention shift away from Citrine, her mood visibly improved.

But Theo's mind was still elsewhere he couldn't stop thinking about Citrine. All he wanted was to get this day over with. He hurriedly asked, "So, where to next?" "Let's go to the mall," Kali replied without hesitation.

Theo frowned, just barely.

It wasn't that he was stingy. Even though the Glenwood family had gone bankrupt, he still had smoney left- enough to get by. But if Kali kept shopping for luxury goods like she used to, his savings wouldn't last them more than a few trips.

He'd always doted on his little sister, but now, seeing her so oblivious to their situation, he couldn't help but feel she was being childish.

He was about to give her a piece of his mind, but before he could say a word, Kali's eyes went wide and she pleaded with him in the softest voice: "But it's been so long since I've bought anything." "They just released the new bags and dresses I love..." There was a hopeful glimmer in her eyes. In the past, whenever she set her sights on something new, she'd charm him into saying yes-and he always did.

But things were different now. Instead of feeling indulgent, Theo just felt tired- and, if he was honest, a little annoyed.

He rubbed his temples and sighed. "Kali, you already bought two bags this month. You know how things are for us now. Can't you try to be a little more considerate?" Kali froze, not expecting Theo to be so harsh. "Are you saying you don't loveanymore?" Her eyes filled with tears as she looked pitifully at Quentin.

But inside, she was cursing Theo for being useless.

The standoff dragged on, until Quentin finally broke the tension. He patted Theo's shoulder gently. "It's just a bag, Theo. I'll get it for her." "No," Theo replied coldly, glaring at Kali.

He'd grown up with her he knew her too well. That look she gave Quentin wasn't lost on him; she clearly wanted Quentin to step in and pay.

Theo let out a humorless laugh. Only today did he realize that the proud little sister he used to know was now willing to beg for money.

She knew full well that, lately, they'd only managed thanks to the Aldridge family's help. There was no reason for Quentin to foot the bill for them any longer; the more they owed, the deeper they'd sink.

He looked at Kali with a new sense of contempt.

Kali noticed, but she didn't care.

The Glenwoods were finished, and Theo meant nothing to her now.

All she needed was to hold on to Quentin.

That afternoon, Kali bought armfuls of new things, all paid for by Quentin. Theo tried to stop it, but in the end he just gave up. The whole ordeal left him thoroughly disgusted with her.

That night, Kali quietly slipped into one of the new strappy dresses she'd bought earlier and snuck into Quentin's room.

The room was empty except for the sound of running water from the bathroom. Kali pulled back the covers and slipped into Quentin's bed, bundling herself tightly under the sheets.

Half an hour later, Quentin emerged from the bathroom. When he pulled back the blanket, he found Kali lying there, her cheeks flushed.

His face changed in an instant, shock and alarm flashing across his features as he stumbled back several steps. "Kali, what do you think you're

doing? Get out of my bed, now." The Aldridge family was one of the most prominent in Crestwood-Quentin knew exactly what this could mean. He frowned deeply, his tone sharp and cold. Kali threw off the covers and jumped off the bed, flinging herself into Quentin's arms.

She tilted her head up, trying to kiss him.

In the nick of time, Quentin shoved her away in disgust, his voice icy. "Get out." "Kali, don't debase yourself like this."

If there'd been any doubt before, in that moment Quentin knew with absolute certainty he didn't care for her at all. His emotions boiling over, Quentin didn't hold back. He pushed her so hard that Kali crashed to the floor, tears springing to her eyes from the pain.

He didn't soften. His face remained hard, full of the srevulsion. The same! next second, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "Cupstairs and get her out of here." His voice was glacial. Within minutes, someone cand carried Kali away.
