Chapter 1797

Moss smiled calmly.

“It doesn’t matter.

Whether she acknowledgesor not, the truth won't change.”

Melon stopped crying, stunned by Moss’ confidence.

Suddenly, an alarm blared.

A mechanical voice announced an intruder.

Moss’ face changed.

He had clearly not expected people to chere so soon.

When Melon heard the mechanical whirring, he let out a burp and a giggle, thinking that his parents must have

chere to save him.

Then, he saw that Moss had started to pack up and was completely ignoring him.

Seizing the moment, Melon thought of an idea.

He sneaked away and hid in the room he had stayed in before.

Thinking this might not be enough, he took it a step further and locked the door from the inside.

In doing so, he believed he could buy himself stand leave Moss with no chance to take him away.

“I'm truly a genius,” Melon murmured to himself, settling into a chair with a smug look as he stared at the locked

door.

However, he had overlooked a crucial detail.

Moss had the key to this room.

Just then, Moss breezed in effortlessly, the rancid black flask in hand.

In Melon’s mind, Moss seemed like a heartless tyrant, unwilling to let a child like him off easily.

“Why did you lock the door on purpose?” Moss approached Melon, frowning.

“I didn’t,” Melon blurted out, his voice shaky.

Avoiding Moss's gaze, he stumbled over his words.

“I just... The alarm was blaring so loud... | was scared out of my wits and locked the door instinctively.”

How could a mere child fool someone as shrewd as Moss?

Moss narrowed his eyes but didn’t argue.

He simply handed the flask to Melon with an authoritative air, saying, “Drink this.”

“Why are you doing this to me?” Melon's voice was laced with desperation.

He slapped his thighs in frustration and continued, “I'm just a child.

Do you really have to killbefore you escape?”

“Yes,” Moss said with a nod, thoughtfully removing the cork from the flask.

The moment Melon caught a whiff of the stench, he felt his stomach churn.

He clamped his hand over his mouth and tried to back away, shaking his head.

Twas of the essence, and Moss had no patience for Melon's resistance.

He pulled Melon into his arms and held him tightly.

He then pried Melon’s mouth open and poured the potion down his throat.

Melon was helplessly burping and sobbing as the entire flask of black potion was forced down his throat.

“I hate you! | hate you so much!” Melon exclaimed, his anger flaring.

He reached out, trying to scratch Moss’ face in revenge.
